Terms of Service

By using this website to book a service with Home Cleaning Joy, you agree to comply with and be bound by these terms and conditions. If you do not agree with these terms, please do not book a service.


Booking Confirmation

Booking a cleaning service online does not guarantee availability for your requested date or time. You will receive a confirmation by email or phone once your booking is finalized.


Cleaning Providers

Our referred cleaning providers are thoroughly vetted before onboarding with Home Cleaning Joy. We value integrity and hold all providers accountable for delivering professional, high-quality service.


Right to Refuse Service

We reserve the right to deny or terminate service due to safety concerns, inappropriate or uncomfortable situations, weapons on-premises, severe clutter, or disconnected utilities.

Our providers may leave if they find the home in an extremely unsanitary condition or if they feel unsafe or threatened. If you book a cleaning that is deemed unreasonable, the cleaner may refuse service on-site, and a cancellation fee will apply.


Cleaning Day Preparation

Your cleaning price is based on the assumption that providers can focus entirely on cleaning. Please take a few minutes to tidy up so the team can access floors, countertops, and other surfaces. If you prefer our cleaners to handle tidying for you, please notify us in advance so we can adjust your cleaning fee accordingly.


Add-On Services

The following add-on services are available for an extra charge:

  • Heavy-duty cleaning

  • Wet wipe/detail blinds

  • Clean inside oven

  • Clean inside fridge

  • Clean interior windows

  • Dishes


Pets

We are happy to work around pets. However, for efficiency and safety, please limit indoor pet activity during the cleaning. If your pet becomes anxious or poses a safety concern, Home Cleaning Joy reserves the right to remove its providers from your home.

Providers are instructed not to enter a house if they believe an animal is a threat. If service is interrupted due to aggressive pets, the cancellation policy will apply.


Service Fees

Prices are based on years of experience and typical home conditions. If your home requires more time than estimated, we will call you to discuss adjustments. If we cannot reach you, the provider may leave, and a cancellation fee will apply.

We reserve the right to reevaluate rates at any time based on the time required to meet your cleaning standards, and Home Cleaning Joy will contact you if significant adjustments are needed.


Payments

Payments are accepted by credit card only. Cards are charged after the appointment is completed.


Refund Policy

We do not offer refunds. However, if something is missed during cleaning, please contact us within 24 hours, and we will correct the issue at no additional charge.


Recurring Service Discount

Recurring discounts begin after your first cleaning. If you skip scheduled cleanings, your price will be adjusted to match the correct frequency.


Rate Increases

Service rates may be adjusted at any time due to changes in home size, number of occupants, remodeling, or added furnishings. Rates may also increase annually, up to 10% of the current price.


Lockouts

You must ensure the service location is accessible to Home Cleaning Joy providers on your scheduled day. If the team is locked out, every effort will be made to contact you. If contact is not made within 30 minutes, the team will leave and you will be charged a $100 late cancellation fee. To avoid this, please provide a key or entry code.


Cancellations

Please provide at least 24 hours’ notice if you need to cancel or reschedule to avoid a $100 cancellation fee.

If service is canceled with less than 24 hours’ notice, or we are unable to access the home upon arrival, a $100 cancellation/lockout fee will apply.


Alarm

If you have a security system, please ensure it is turned off or provide us with the code and instructions. Notify us of any code changes to avoid lockout charges.


Use of Homeowner’s Vacuum

If you request that providers use your vacuum, Home Cleaning Joy will not be responsible for any damage to it or its repairs. If your vacuum is not working upon our arrival, we will not be able to vacuum carpets or floors.


Cleaning Supplies

We provide all necessary equipment and products. If you prefer only green cleaning products, please let us know before your scheduled service.

If you require the use of your own products, please have them ready and understand we cannot be responsible for damage caused by customer-supplied products.


Items We Cannot Clean

We cannot provide mold removal or clean hoarding situations, nor handle areas contaminated by animal or human body fluids, blood, feces, vomit, cat litter, bird cages, or urine/excretions.


Unreachable Areas & Heavy Items

For safety reasons, our providers cannot climb higher than a step stool or move items over 35 pounds. Please move heavy items beforehand if you want those areas cleaned.


Breakage, Damage, or Loss

While rare, damage or breakage can occur. Our providers carry insurance for accidental damage caused by them during cleaning.

We cannot be liable for damage resulting from normal wear and tear, improper installation, or undisclosed valuable items, such as fragile collectibles or heirlooms.

Please report any damage within 24 hours. We will try to replace items identically if possible, but this is not guaranteed.


Cleaners Arrival Window

Cleaners are scheduled with a 1-hour arrival window to allow flexibility for traffic, weather, or unforeseen circumstances. If running late, we will contact you by phone or text.

Cleaning appointments are generally scheduled between 8:00 am and 4:00 pm.


Holidays

Home Cleaning Joy does not provide service on the following holidays:

  • Independence Day

  • Thanksgiving

  • Christmas Eve

  • Christmas Day

  • New Year’s Eve

  • New Year’s Day

If your cleaning falls on one of these days, we will contact you to reschedule.


House Key/Key Release

If you leave a key in an unsecured location (e.g., under a mat), Home Cleaning Joy will not be held responsible for theft or damage.

If you end service with us, we will return your keys within 48 hours or the next business day.


Non-Solicitation of Providers

You agree not to solicit our referred providers for private work outside of Home Cleaning Joy. We invest significant time, money, and training into screening and preparing providers for your safety and satisfaction.


Governing Law

Any claim related to Home Cleaning Joy or this website will be governed by the laws of the State of California without regard to its conflict of law provisions.
